Al-Kadhemi calls for an immediate withdrawal from Green Zone

Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhemi chaired an emergency meeting of the security leaders at the Joint Operations Headquarters on Monday, to discuss recent events and the entry of demonstrators into government institutions.

In a statement to the media office of the PM, Al-Kadhemi renewed his directives to the security leaders to fully comply with the previous instructions regarding protecting the lives of demonstrators, as well as preserving public and private properties, and preventing abuse of government institutions by any party.

Al-Kadhemi called on the demonstrators to immediately withdraw from the Green Zone, not to confuse the general situation in the country, and to endanger societal peace.
