Today, Sunday, Prime Minister-designate Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani affirmed that his work priorities are to form a strong government capable of facing challenges, the most important of which are economic.
The media office of the Prime Minister said, in a statement received by (Al-Ghadir), that “the Prime Minister-designate, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, received the Ambassador of the European Union to Iraq, Felia Variola, the head of the European Union’s advisory mission, Andreas Fibari, and the accompanying delegation,” noting that “the meeting dealt with Strengthening relations between Iraq and the European Union to achieve the aspirations and interests of Iraq and the European Union countries.
Al-Sudani stressed during the meeting, according to the statement, that “the priorities of his work is to form a strong government capable of facing challenges, the most important of which are the economic and addressing poverty, unemployment, poor services and corruption,” expressing “Iraq’s aspiration to strengthen its relations with the countries of the world in a manner that preserves and achieves the interests of Iraq and its people.”
For its part, the European delegation affirmed, “The EU’s continued support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Iraq, and the importance of strengthening the emerging democracy in Iraq,” referring to “the European Union’s support for investment in Iraq and work on its expansion.”
