The President of the Republic stresses the importance of resolving the outstanding issues between Baghdad and Erbil

The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, and the President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, stressed today, Tuesday, the importance of resolving the outstanding issues between Baghdad and Erbil.

The Presidency of the Republic said in a statement followed by (Al-Ghadeer) that “President of the Republic Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid met, today, Tuesday, in the city of Erbil, with the President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani,” noting that “during the meeting, they discussed the general situation in Iraq, including what is related to the relationship between the Center and the Territory.”

She added, “The importance of constructive dialogue was emphasized in order to resolve outstanding issues between the federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government in accordance with the constitution and in a manner that guarantees the rights of all citizens and secures their needs and demands.”

Barzani expressed his confidence in the President of the Republic to play an important role in resolving outstanding issues, stressing “the region’s desire to enhance dialogue and reach solutions based on the constitution and guaranteeing common interests.”
