Today, Tuesday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani affirmed the federal government’s commitment to the Iraqi constitution to address outstanding issues with the Kurdistan Regional Government.
And his media office stated, in a statement followed by (Al-Ghadeer), that “the Prime Minister received the President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani and his accompanying delegation.”
The Prime Minister expressed his “appreciation for the importance of unity of positions at the national level, and the need for solidarity and coordination, to confront the economic, livelihood and service challenges required by the task of securing a decent life for all citizens throughout Iraq.”
He stressed, “The federal government’s commitment to the Iraqi constitution to address outstanding issues, with the Kurdistan Regional Government, in a manner that guarantees the rights of all components.”
For his part, Nechirvan Barzani congratulated the Prime Minister on the occasion of his government gaining confidence, expressing his optimism in the new government’s ability to move the country to a different stage, in which the language of understandings and solutions prevail.
The statement continued, “The meeting discussed the security file in the Iraqi border areas, and emphasized cooperation to preserve Iraq’s sovereignty, reject repeated violations, and work to prevent the use of Iraqi lands as a springboard for attacking any neighboring country.”
