Russia’s Roscomnadzor slaps bans on CIA, FBI websites for spreading false information

The Russian communications watchdog, Roscomnadzor, has restricted users’ access to the websites of the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI).

Roscomnadzor’s service, which provides data on any restrictions of access to websites and web pages, reported on Friday that access from Russia had been limited to the websites at www.cia.gov and www.fbi.gov., and some websites for spreading inaccurate information, according to Tass news agency.

It is reported that these websites had materials that “contain inaccuracies in socially important information and discredit the Russian Federation’s armed forces.”

Russia has been engaged in a special military operation in Ukraine with the western countries taking the opposite side, giving Kiev all-out financial, military, and intelligence support.

In the meantime, the US government has been designated by many as the world’s “greatest propagator of disinformation.”

In related news, Twitter CEO Elon Musk revealed just last month that all social media platforms worked in collaboration with the US government.

Following his purchase of the giant social media platform, Musk published documents proving that Twitter had conspired with the FBI, CIA, Pentagon, and other US government agencies to control information on a range of issues including the war in Ukraine.
