Massive rally held in Kuwait in solidarity with Palestinians, condemnation of Israeli violence

Hundreds of people have reportedly staged a massive rally in Kuwait to show solidarity with the oppressed Palestinian nation, and denounce the recent surge in killings by Israeli forces which comes as part of intensified raids, particularly in the occupied West Bank cities of Jenin and Nablus.

The demonstrators descended on al-Erada Square in front of the Kuwait National Assembly building on Friday, and chanted slogans in praise of Palestinian resistance against Israeli occupation, and in rejection of normalization of ties with the Tel Aviv regime.

During the rally, the participants chanted, “Palestine is a trust and normalization amounts to treason … Palestine is an Arab state.”

Executive Head of the Kuwaiti Youth League for al-Quds Youssef al-Kandari said, “Our participation in this rally stems from our faith that Palestine is our cause, which is the cause of the entire Muslim world. We have a duty to stand for Palestine.”

“The ongoing violations and aggression in Palestine, including home demolition, frightening and torturing our sisters – the female prisoners inside Israeli jails – prompt Kuwaitis to take part in this event.”

“Even though we are celebrating our national days here in Kuwait, our hearts go out to our [Palestinian] brethren who are suffering under the Israeli Occupation,” he said.

Researcher in the Palestinian affairs, Abdullah al-Mousawi, also said, “We came here to reiterate the Kuwaiti support and solidarity with Palestinians. We support resistance against the Israeli occupation.”

“We will continue to support the Palestinian resistance front until the liberation of all Palestinian lands from the grip of Zionist occupation.”

“This is the least of what we can offer to Palestine in light of the plague of normalization, which has infected the region and aims to liquidate the Palestinian cause,” he said.
