The President of the Republic discusses with the delegation of the Kurdistan region the political, security and economic developments in the country

The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, received today the delegation of the Kurdistan Region, headed by Interior Minister Riber Ahmed and his accompanying delegation.

A presidential statement stated: “During the meeting, they discussed political, security and economic developments, the file of the displaced in the country, and the need to unify efforts among the Iraqi forces to face the challenges facing the country.”

The President stressed the importance of continued consultation and coordination between the federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government to reach real understandings that lead to radical solutions to outstanding issues based on the constitution, the law and the national interest of the country, stressing that the Iraqis are waiting for important benefits, including the approval of the budget and the oil and gas law, because they have direct contact with the lives and livelihood of citizens.

He pointed out that the federal government and the regional government have the will and desire to resolve issues through understanding and dialogue between the two parties.

For his part, Riber Ahmed stressed the keenness of the Kurdistan Regional Government to reach understandings and radical solutions to outstanding issues with the federal government, referring to the good relations between the two sides.

Ahmed appreciated the position and efforts of the President of the Republic in converging points of view, and his role in resolving problems between political parties, in a way that contributes to the consolidation of security and stability in the country.
