Iraq ranked second in the most polluted country in the world in a Swiss study that included more than 30,000 air quality monitoring stations in more than seven thousand locations in 131 countries.
The Swiss company IQAir stated that the city of Chad recorded the highest pollution rate in the world, 17 times more than the standard air purity recommendations set by the World Health Organization.
The study shows that pollution rates in Iraq, which has a population of about 44 million, have nearly doubled in one year
And in 2020, Iraq was tenth in the list of the most polluted countries, according to the World Population Review.
