Erling Haaland’s historic five-goal haul for Manchester City was accompanied by fine strikes from Ilkay Gundogan and Kevin De Bruyne – making up for a performance in the first-leg that many onlookers had highlighted as a disappointment.
As for their opponents in the next round of Europe’s premier club competition, Bayern Munich, they progressed via a 3-0 win over two-legs vs Paris Saint-Germain.
