The Iraqi Minister of Migration and Displacement, Evan Jabro, said that there are more than 40 thousand displaced families inside and outside camps, the Iraqi News Agency (INA) reported.
Jabro explained that there are about 29 camps, and more than 40 thousand displaced families inside and outside camps, with more than a million displaced people.
The Iraqi minister indicated that the ministry is committed to the government program to end the displacement issue within six months.
The Migration and Displacement Minister pointed out that displaced people, although in small numbers, are returning to their homes on daily basis.
Jabro clarified that the ministry encourages this return to end the displacement issue, but the ministry also needs support from all government institutions in rebuilding the homes of the displaced families, strengthening security in their areas, providing all services and infrastructure, and solving tribal issues.
The Iraqi minister added that the support of the government institutions is essential because the ministry will not be able to return the displaced families without the cooperation of other institutions.
