Today, Saturday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani affirmed the government’s determination to liberate the Iraqi economy from sole dependence on oil.

The media office of the Prime Minister said, in a statement received by (Al-Ghadeer), that “Prime Minister Muhammad Shia’a Al-Sudani chaired a meeting dedicated to discussing the provisions of the draft federal budget law presented to the House of Representatives.”

The statement added, “The meeting included the two deputies of Parliament Speaker, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, and Shakhwan Abdullah, and members of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, as well as the deputies of the Prime Minister; Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Oil and Planning.

He pointed out, “The meeting witnessed a discussion of the provisions of the draft federal budget law presented to the House of Representatives, and the strengths and attribution in its paragraphs, as well as discussing the importance of designing the budget law for the first time so that its main projects extend over a period of three years, which will be reflected in the ease and speed of implementing infrastructure projects.” basic infrastructure and services.

Al-Sudani listened to “valuable observations from members of the Finance Committee, about some points in the draft budget law, and they were accepted in a manner that contributes to the maturation of the project and the achievement of its objectives.”

Al-Sudani referred to “the government’s plans for development and the economy, financial reforms and their positive returns on the internal economy and their assistance in creating real job opportunities and revitalizing the private sector,” stressing “the government’s determination to liberate the Iraqi economy from sole dependence on oil and fluctuations in its prices in global markets, by revitalizing the rest of the sectors.” Promising agricultural, industrial and service sectors.

The statement concluded, “During the meeting, it was emphasized that meetings will continue to be held with parliamentary committees, in order to achieve more coordination and cooperation in order to achieve work integration and secure basic services for citizens.”
