The National Security Adviser, Qassem Al-Araji, affirmed that the Iraqi government is keen to strengthen its relations with the European Union.
The chancellery said in a statement: “Al-Araji met in his office today, the Ambassador of the European Union in Baghdad, Phile Fariola, on the occasion of the end of his duties.”
Al-Araji appreciated the efforts of Ambassador Fariola, during his assumption of the duties of the European Union’s Ambassador to Iraq, wishing him continued success, stressing that the Iraqi government is keen to strengthen its relations with the European Union.
Al-Araji stressed: “The Prime Minister, Muhammad Shiaa al-Sudani, stressed the need to protect diplomatic missions, and that Iraq is keen that its relations be balanced with everyone, and will not be within a specific axis or with any party against the other, and believes that the solution to problems and crises must be through dialogue and diplomatic channels.
Al-Araji stressed, “The importance of the world remaining united against extremism, praising the role and efforts of the Ambassador of the European Union, expressing Iraq’s aspiration to strengthen and develop its relations with the European Union to broader horizons and in various fields.”
