Russian air defense systems have destroyed three Ukrainian drones over the Kaluga region bordering Moscow.
The Russian defense ministry said on Wednesday that its defense systems repelled the attempted drone attack, destroying the three unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) deployed for the offensive.
The attempted attack took place at around 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT), the ministry added.
“Russian air defense systems timely detected and destroyed all UAVs,” the ministry said, adding that there were no casualties or material damage as a result of the incident.
Russian air defenses on Tuesday evening foiled another attempted terrorist drone attack over the territory of Belgorod Region. A day earlier, another attack was foiled.
In the meantime, Russian military units repelled four separate Ukrainian attacks in the Krasny Liman direction, killing about 70 Kiev forces.
“Frontline units of the Center Group of Forces, supported by artillery fire and air strikes, have thwarted and repelled four attempted attacks on positions of Russian forces by assault groups of the 67th Mechanized Brigades of the Ukrainian armed forces in the area of the Serebryansky forestry,” Alexander Savchuk, head of the press center of Russia’s Center Group of Forces, told Sputnik.
“The enemy’s losses amounted to about 70 soldiers. An infantry fighting vehicle and an armored vehicle have been destroyed,” said Savchuk.
Savchuk added that a Ukrainian howitzer and a drone were destroyed in the operation, adding that army aviation carried out missile strikes against enemy manpower and firepower hubs in the areas of the Serebryansky forestry and the village of Chervona Dibrova.
