Today, Friday, the Governor of Najaf Al-Ashraf, Majid Al-Waeli, announced statistics on the number of visitors and services provided to them during the commemoration of the death anniversary of the Great Prophet.
Al-Waeli said in a statement, “Over the past few days, the Al-Najaf Governorate witnessed a visitation ceremony to the shrine of the Master of the Guardians, Ali bin Abi Talib, peace be upon him, on the occasion of the anniversary of the martyrdom of the greatest Messenger, the Noble Prophet Muhammad, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family, and believers from various governorates intended to visit the holy shrine on foot.” On foot, through several main and subsidiary axes distributed throughout the geographical area of the governorate, in addition to that, a large number of visitors arrived to the city via various means of transportation and from all axes, as well as through Najaf Al-Ashraf International Airport.
He added, “The local administration developed a security and service plan in which the various security and intelligence services in the governorate participated, as well as support units from the Border Guard forces, the Popular Mobilization Forces, the Imam Ali Combat Team, and the Rapid Intervention Division, in addition to the service and health departments in the governorate, as well as a supporting effort from a number of governorates, ministries, and government agencies.”
He explained that “the number of visitors who came to the governorate on foot or by vehicle during these days and to this day has reached approximately (5 million) visitors. As for the details of the service effort for the visit, we summarize it for you as follows:
1- Najaf Health Department
Participating staff:
1,422 employees of the governorate’s health department
144 employees from other governorates
Number of participating wheels: 69
Medical services provided: 170,068 visitors
2- Municipal institutions
The amount of waste raised is 29,462 cubic metres
The amount of waste removed is 1007 cubic metres
Cleaning work covered 90,604 square metres
The number of participating vehicles is 461 wheels
The number of prepared waste bags is 123,200
Number of containers equipped: 299
Najaf Municipality
Staff: 1531 employees
Number of mechanisms: 178 wheels
Old City Municipality
The staff is 145 employees from within the governorate
The staff is 20 employees from outside the governorate

Najaf Municipalities Directorate
The staff consists of 1,002 employees from within the governorate

The staff is 182 employees from within the governorate

The amount of water transported by machinery is 17,500 cubic meters

4- Najaf Electricity Distribution Branch
The staff is 550 employees from within the governorate

7- Water Resources Directorate
Staff: 50 employees

8- Department of Private Transport in Najaf Al-Ashraf
The participating staff is 215 employees

10 – Supportive service effort from other governorates
The number of vehicles participating in the service plan for the visit of the Great Messenger reached 664 wheels, which included (pistons, tubs, sweepers, shufflers, pullers, ambulances, transport buses, etc.)
This supportive effort reached the Najaf Governorate from several governorates and service institutions (Baghdad, Muthanna, Babylon, Karbala, and Diwaniyah), in addition to the Ministry of Oil, Electricity, Shrines, Civil Defense, the Hajj and Umrah Authority, and the Diwaniyah Education Directorate.
