UNAMI describes the wedding hall fire incident as a “tremendous tragedy”: We feel pain and shock

Today, Wednesday, the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) offered condolences to the victims of the wedding hall fire incident in Nineveh.

The mission stated in a blog post on its page on the “X” website: “We feel shock and pain due to the huge loss of life and injuries in the fire that occurred in Al-Hamdaniya in Nineveh. Huge tragedy. Our sincere condolences to the families who lost their loved ones. We wish those injured a speedy recovery.”

The official spokesman for the Ministry of Health, Saif Al-Badr, announced hours ago that the death toll from the fire – until then – reached 100 deaths and 150 injured.
