Today, Wednesday, the President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Gamal Rashid, called for the need to open an investigation and find out the circumstances of the incident in the wedding hall in Hamdaniya.
The President of the Republic said in a blog post on the X website: “What happened to our children in the Al-Hamdaniya district is a painful tragedy, and an accident that has broken our hearts and the hearts of all Iraqis,” stressing “the necessity of opening an investigation, knowing the circumstances of the accident, and taking all safety measures to prevent its recurrence.”
He added: “Our deepest sympathies and sincere condolences to the families of the victims and a speedy recovery to the injured.”
Yesterday, Tuesday, a fire broke out in a wedding hall in Al-Hamdaniya district, causing the death of 100 people and injuring 150 others.
