US Senator Bernie Sanders on Sunday accused Benjamin Netanyahu’s government of racism and responsibility for the escalation in recent years because it is a right-wing, racist-oriented government.
Sanders stressed in an interview with Pod Save America،that “the approach of the US administration of Donald Trump pro-Israel,” which transferred the US embassy to Jerusalem (occupied); put peace negotiations with the Palestinians are at risk.
“If the United States wants peace in the Middle East, it should not be pro-Israel all the time,” said Sanders, who is running for the US Democratic primary in 2020.
“Our policy can not only be pro-Israel but must be pro-regional and work with all people and all countries in the region,” he said. “The Palestinians deserve respect and fair treatment.”
Sanders, 77, lost four years ago to Hillary Clinton in the Democratic primaries.
