The largest cargo ship in the world crossing the Suez Canal

The container ship “MSC GULSUN”, the largest in the world, will cross the canal on Thursday, Suez Canal Authority spokesman Tarek Hassanein announced.
Hassanein said that the channel’s chairman, General Mohab Mamish, will oversee the crossing of the ship. He stressed that the channel “will take all measures to secure the transit of this giant ship for the first time to the channel.”

On the other hand, the channel’s data showed that its revenues increased to $ 5.7 billion in 2018, compared to $ 5.3 billion in 2017.

It is noteworthy that the channel recorded, on Friday, an unprecedented record in the number and tonnage of ships passing through it, where 81 vessels crossed that day, the largest number of ships crossing the channel in one day
