Astronomers have discovered millions of black holes in the Milky Way, including a giant hole 40 billion times the size of the Sun.
According to a report published by the technical site “Mashable”, the black hole “Holberg 15a”, is a giant elliptical galaxy, about 700 million light-years from Earth.
Holmberg 15A is one of the largest black holes discovered by the Wendelstein Observatory by observing the movement of stars around it. Using photometric data, images are destroyed by pixels to identify shadows.
Researchers at the Observatory hope that the discovery, after further research, will help them learn more about how black holes are formed and the number of holes not yet discovered in the universe.
