Israeli forces have shot dead a Palestinian man in East Jerusalem al-Quds; the third fatality in the occupied territories since Friday.
Another Palestinian was also wounded in the attack as Israeli forces targeted the victim’s vehicle, the Palestinian news and information agency Wafa reported.
It said they had “opened fire at a suspicious car after the driver, who was in Jerusalem without a permit, failed to stop.”
The agency named the victim as Riyad Mohammad Shamasneh from Qatanna, a village northwest of al-Quds.
On Friday, Israeli forces fatally shot another Palestinian, while targeting stone-throwing “suspects” along a central highway in the occupied West Bank.
The Israeli military said in a statement that the casualties were caused after its forces fired live rounds at the Palestinians who were allegedly throwing stones at motorists driving along Highway 60, Israeli television channel i24NEWS reported. The route connects the cities of Beersheba and Nazareth, in northern and central Israel, which passes through the West Bank.
The Palestinian resistance movement Islamic Jihad also said later on Friday that the Israeli military shot and injured one of its leaders near Ramallah. He was identified as 56-year-old Ahmad Muhammad Dar Nasr.
Also on Friday, Israeli forces fatally shot a Palestinian in the Gaza Strip, targeting weekly protests held in the Tel Aviv-blockaded territory in support of the Palestinians’ right to return to their Israeli-occupied homeland.
