Four other members of the Islamic State (Daesh) were captured in the Iraqi city of Mosul on Tuesday.
Iraqi Interior Ministry said in a statement that the insurgents were arrested on judicial arrest warrants by a Nineveh Police force in western Mosul, noting that they had been involved in attacks on the security forces.
One of the jihadists worked for the extremist group’s Hisbah (IS religious police), and the other three were members of the Jund Diwan (soldiers), Saad Maan, a spokesperson for the ministry, told Iraqi media reports.
He added that the militants confessed to having fought the Iraqi security forces in west and east of Mosul during the liberation campaign in the city.
