Iraq denies using its territory to attack Saudi oil facilities

The Prime Minister’s office issued a statement on Sunday, denying the use of Iraqi territory to attack Saudi oil facilities by drones, calling for a peaceful solution in Yemen and protecting civilian lives and saving security of brotherly countries.

Here is the statement: “Iraq denies what some Media and Social networking circulated about the use of Iraqi territory to attack Saudi oil facilities by drones. We confirm Iraq’s constitutional commitment to prevent the use of its territory for aggression on neighbors, brothers and friends. The Iraqi Government will deal firmly with whoever tries to violate the constitution; and has formed a committee of the relevant Iraqi parties to follow up the information and developments.

“Iraq calls upon all parties to cease mutual attacks that cause great loss of life and facilities. The Iraqi Government maintains following these developments with great concern, standing in solidarity with its brothers, and expressing concern that escalation and military solutions complicate the humanitarian and political situation, and threaten our common, regional, and international security.

“Iraq reiterates its call for a peaceful solution in Yemen; to protect civilian lives and brotherly countries. And call upon world countries, especially the region countries; to carry their humanitarian and moral responsibilities, presenting initiatives to put an end to this war (of which there would be no winners) that caused great human losses and the destruction of vital and infrastructures”.
