Iraqi President Salih met today at the Presidential Office in Baghdad, with French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian and the delegation accompanying him.
The President stressed the need to intensify efforts to support Iraq in maintaining its security and stability, emphasized that terrorist gangs must not be given a chance to renew their activities further to threaten the security of the region and the world, especially since Iraq is still suffering from the destructive effects of the crimes of the terrorist organization ISIS.
President added that Turkey’s military offensives in north Syria would undermine the International Community’s efforts in fighting terrorism, therefore these should be ceased urgently in order to prevent a humanitarian disaster in the conflict areas.
The discussion at the meeting stressed the strengthening of bilateral relations, mutual cooperation between the two friendly nations. Recent regional and international developments were highlighted.
