Iraqi judiciary begins investigating the “corrupt” MPs in a new manner

The Supreme Judicial Council in Iraq announced the implementation of procedures for the investigation of deputies wanted for crimes of financial and administrative corruption without the need to approach them.

“The Council issued a circular to all courts to implement the procedures of investigation with deputies wanted for crimes of financial and administrative corruption without the need to approach them in order to approach the parliament on lifting immunity after it votes to lift the immunity from deputies wanted for crimes of financial and administrative corruption.”

The statement pointed to the Supreme Judicial Council’s emphasis on the executive bodies to implement directly the arrest warrants or demanding for coming.
