The Iraqi Integrity Board has issued arrest warrants for 60 officials, including a governor, who are suspected of being involved in corruption cases.
A total of 38 arrest warrants were issued for current and former members of provincial councils, while another one was for a governor of one of the provinces, according to Iraqi media reports.
Meanwhile, there were warrants for two heads of provincial councils and six others for general directors as well as other high profile officials who are accused of corruption.
Tens of thousands of Iraqi people have been taking to the streets since early October against the government, including corruption, unemployment, and poor public services.
