Iraq issues two summon orders against the current MP and former governor.

The Commission of Integrity revealed on Monday the issuance of two summon orders against a member in the current parliament and the former governor of Nineveh; based on the provisions of articles (307 and 331) of the Iraqi Penal Code.

The Investigations Department of the Commission pointed out that the judiciary has issued a summon order against one of the members of the current parliament, based on the provisions of Article 307 of the Iraqi Penal Code for receiving an amount of (450,000,000) million dinars in 2017 from the former governor of Nineveh in exchange for the non-voting of the members of Nineveh Provincial Council on his dismissal from the post of governor.

The department added that an order has been issued against the former governor of Nineveh based on the provisions of Article (331) of the Iraqi Penal Code; for exceeding the exchange limit according to the powers granted to him from differences in the salaries of the governorate for (June and July and August 2015), indicating that the value of those amounts exceeded (422 million) dinars.
