Iraqi security forces carried out an operation against the Islamic State (IS) near Mosul, north of Iraq, during which they killed at least 14 jihadists.
According to Iraq’s state-owned news agency, the operation was conducted in the remote areas south of Mosul, Nineveh province.
Other reports claimed also that 13 terrorists were captured during the raid.
Iraq declared victory over IS in December 2017. However, the remnants of the terrorist group remain active in remote areas of the country, especially in the provinces of Nineveh, Salahaddin, Diyala, and Anbar.
